I had bought this gorgeous recycled canvas from Fabric Romance with bagmaking in mind, but while testing the Float Dress & Top pattern for Abi I couldn’t resist seeing how the canvas would look made into a Float Top. As you can see here is works a treat! The palate of colours is just perfection and the more structured fabric gives a really different look!
Of course it is also perfect for bagmaking! I’ve reinforced the recycled canvas with Pellon Shape Flex 101, which Steph also stocks in Fabric Romance. As you’ll have noticed in my tutorials this is my go to interfacing for all lighter/midweight canvases to give them just that bit extra strength and stability for bagmaking.
I also made a Float Dress for No.3 during testing. Love it too and couldn’t resist getting her to model another crossbody SUNrise while she was in good form! Fabric Romance also stock the beautiful Cloud 9 organic cotton “Birds and Blossoms” canvas that you can see here.
Head over to my instagram profile for more information and for a chance tomorrow to win a copy of the Float Dress & Top pattern by The Sewn Edge, a copy of the SUNrise pattern from yours truly and a wonderful €25 voucher from Fabric Romance.
