The SLOUCHYshopper pattern comes in two sizes, medium and large. The large size is a traditionally big shopper, perfect for carrying about all you need for a trip to the beach, swimming lessons, the supermarket... The medium size still has lots of room but might be a better size for day to day use? Both sizes have one main bag compartment with a nifty hanging slip pocket and lanyard strap and clip internally. Both medium and large can be made with a choice of a detachable shoulder strap or an adjustable shoulder strap, along with in seam hand straps.
Approximate Finished Dimensions:
MEDIUM: width at opening: 43cm (17"), overall height: 34cm (13 1/2"), width of base: 32cm (12 1/2"), depth of base: 11cm (4 1/3")
LARGE: width at opening: 48cm (19"), overall height: 40cm (15 3/4""), width of base: 39cm (15 1/2"), depth of base: 14cm (5 1/2")

The SLOUCHYshopper is a "Beginner” level pattern.
The bag construction is very straightforward, but with some lovely details to keep it fun! It is a great introductory bag-making pattern, perfect for beginner bag makers and suitable for making on a domestic sewing machine!

OUTER FABRIC:
Most mid-heavy weight woven fabrics are suitable such as oilskin/waxed canvas, mid - weight canvas, denim. Quantities of fabric vary depending on size, option and colour blocking choices. The largest size requires up to 125cm (1 1/2 yd) of 110cm/42" wide outer fabric.
LINING:
Medium-lightweight cotton, quilting cotton, linen, mid-light weight canvas. Quantities of fabric vary depending on size, option and colour blocking choices. The large size requires up to 100cm (1 1/8 yd) of 110cm/42" wide lining fabric.
The above fabrics are suggested as guidance. You can probably successfully make a SLOUCHYshopper out of any fabric, so have fun experimenting!

NOTIONS required include (depending on your option choice):
OPTION - Detachable Shoulder Strap (Fabric/Leather/Webbing):
- 2 x 25mm (1") D-Rings
- 2 x 25mm (1") Swivel Hooks
- The tutorial covers making a self-made fabric strap, with the fabric allowed for within the quantities. Alternatively you can use an approximately 80cm (32") length of 25mm (1") leather or 1m (40") of 25mm (1") webbing.
- Optional: 2 x Rivets to attach your Leather strap.
OPTION - Adjustable Shoulder Strap (Webbing):
- 1 x 2.5cm (1") Rectangular Ring
- 1 x 25mm (1") Adjustable Slider
- 1.2m (48") x 25mm (1") cotton webbing
Hand Straps:
The tutorial covers making a self-made fabric strap, with the fabric allowed for within the quantities given. Alternatively 2 x 25mm (1") wide webbing of 33cm (13") length could be used.
Lanyard:
1 x 12mm (1/2") swivel hook. The tutorial also covers making a self-made fabric strap, with the fabric allowed for within the quantities given.
