It has a simple modern aesthetic with angled outer pockets that can be secured with a snap & loop closure, a simple snap closure or with a line of stitching. Additionally, the large sized APEX comes with options for internal pockets allowing you to choose to add a 20cm zipped welt pocket and/or a subdivided angled pocket.

Perfect for a wash bag, makeup pouch, project bag, sooo many uses!! The zipped APEX is sized to take a 30cm or 20cm closed ended zip. It has a simple modern aesthetic with angled outer pockets that can be secured with a snap & loop closure, a simple snap closure or with a line of stitching. Additionally, the large sized APEX comes with options for internal pockets allowing you to choose to add a 20cm zipped welt pocket and/or a subdivided angled pocket.

    Dimensions:

    The small APEXpouch has the following approximate finished dimensions: 15cm (6") tall x 16cm (6 1/2") wide at the base x 8cm (3") deep at the base. The drawstring option has a finished opening width of about 24cm (9 1/2") or takes a 20cm (8") closed ended zip.

    The large APEXpouch has the following approximate finished dimensions: 22cm (8 1/2") x 23cm (9") wide at the base x 11cm (4 1/2") deep at the base. The drawstring option has a finished opening width of about 34cm (13 1/2")or takes a 30cm (12") closed ended zip.

  • It is a "Beginner - Confident Beginner" level pattern. The APEXpouch pattern has lots of options; some straightforward and some a little bit more challenging. New to bag making?? The pattern comes with a comprehensive PDF tutorial making it a great entry level bag making project.

    Upon purchase you will be sent a link to the zipped pattern file that lasts for 24hours after purchase - but don’t worry! Should you need to access your pattern at a later date just click on the original email to be sent a new one. For your own convenience we do advise that you download and save your files securely on your computer upon purchase.

  • OUTER FABRIC:

    Most mid-heavy weight woven fabrics are suitable such as oilskin/waxed canvas, mid - weight canvas, denim.

    Quantities of fabric vary depending on size, option and colour blocking choices. The small size requires up to 50cm/0.6yrd of 110cm/42" wide outer fabric. The large size requires up to 80cm (0.9yrd) of 110cm/42" wide outer fabric.

    LINING FABRIC:

    Medium-lightweight cotton, quilting cotton, linen, mid-light weight canvas.

    Quantities of fabric vary depending on size, option and colour blocking choices. The small size requires up to 45cm/0.5yrd of 110cm/42" wide lining fabric. The large size requires up to 95cm (1.1yrd) of 110cm/42" wide lining fabric.

  • NOTIONS required include (depending on your option choice):

    - 20cm/30cm closed ended zip (or 22cm/32cm length of a continuous zip and zipper pull).

    - Optional: 2x snap fixings.

    - Optional Internal Welt Zip: 20cm closed ended zip (or 23cm length of a continuous zip and zipper pull).

    - Interfacing : The APEXpouch is constructed with outer pocket layers that provide some inherent stability simply due to the multiple layers involved. While the pouch can be made without overall interfacing, depending on the fabric you use and the level or structure that you desire, you may wish to interface some areas. The pattern tutorial contains suggestions on suitable fabrics and on areas where you may want to consider adding interfacing.
