The Planetary Backpack is a relaxed drawstring backpack with a top cover flap and an easy access outer front pocket. A midsized backpack perfect for a trip to the park or all the essentials needed for your little one’s first trip to outer space! The main bag is accessed via the circular top flap and drawstring closure. There an outer pocket secured with a snap fixing and internally a simple patch pocket.

It is a "Confident Beginner" level pattern requiring a bit of confidence handling multiple layers of fabric. New to bag making?? Don't worry, the pattern comes with a comprehensive PDF tutorial making it a great entry level bag making project.

OUTER FABRIC:
Mid - heavy weight stable fabrics such as oilskin/waxed canvas, mid-heavy weight canvas, a stable mid/heavy weight linen, corduroy, twill, denim, etc.
LINING FABRIC:
Mid - light weight stable fabrics such as cotton, quilting cotton, linen etc.

- 25mm (1 inch) Swivel Hook/Side Release Buckle

- Interfacing: The Planetary Backpack is designed to be a relaxed backpack and can be made without overall interfacing, depending on the fabric you choose and the level or structure that you desire, you may wish to interface some areas. The pattern tutorial contains suggestions on suitable fabrics and on areas where you may want to consider adding interfacing.
